Poland Finds Possible Wiretaps In Government Meeting Room

Poland's security services discovered possible listening devices on Tuesday in a room to be used for a government meeting in the southern city of Katowice.

The discovery comes at a time when the NATO member has become a target of pro-Kremlin espionage following Russia's invasion of neighbouring Ukraine.

The security services "detected and removed devices that could have been used to eavesdrop on conversations in the room where the cabinet will meet today in Katowice", security services spokesman Jacek Dobrzynski said on X, formerly Twitter.

Arena victim's mum's 200-mile walk to demand new law

The mother of a Manchester Arena attack victim has set off on a 200-mile (321km) trek to Downing Street to insist a law tightening security at public venues is introduced.

Figen Murray began her walk from the Manchester Arena, where her son Martyn Hett was killed in 2017 by suicide bomber Salman Abedi.

She said campaigners "cannot wait any longer" for Martyn's Law, which would require venues to have counter-terrorism measures.

Perth boy, 16, shot dead by police had been suspended by school after assault on another student

A radicalised teenager shot dead by police in a Perth car park at the weekend after he had stabbed a man had been suspended from school one week earlier over an assault on another student.

Speaking on ABC Perth radio, the WA education department’s director general, Lisa Rogers, confirmed the 16-year-old school student was excluded from Rossmoyne Senior high school for several days.

“In this instance … he offended and well, he was suspended,” she said.

Fiona Elias, Liz Hopkin and a pupil were injured at Ysgol Dyffryn Aman in Ammanford on Wednesday.

A 13-year-old girl appeared at Llanelli Magistrates' Court earlier charged with three counts of attempted murder.

Sydney church stabbing was 'terrorist' attack, police say

Australian police have declared Monday's stabbing at a Sydney church a religiously motivated "terrorist act".

A 16-year-old boy was arrested after a bishop, a priest and churchgoers were attacked during mass at the Assyrian Christ The Good Shepherd Church.

At least four people suffered "non-life-threatening" injuries, police say. The attacker was also hurt.

Manchester Arena bomb: Hundreds of survivors to sue MI5

More than 250 survivors of the Manchester Arena bomb are taking legal action against MI5, lawyers representing them have confirmed.

Twenty-two people died and hundreds more were injured in the blast in May 2017.

Legal teams representing many survivors injured in the explosion said they have submitted a group claim to the Investigatory Powers Tribunal (IPT).
